2 months, 2 weeks ago2 months, 2 weeks agoNorth of Cincinnati Ohio. From an empty lot where I look for fossils. I usually find marine life there, brachiopods, horn coral. But I thought this looked like bone so I thought that was interesting.

Greetings @angie-jones ! From first glance it appears to be a bone fragment, but the strata around Miamisburg is squarely Ordivician. So, as others have said it’s probably a coral fragment.

Go to your specimen on emuseum and then click on images. Then you can drag a new image into the box below. You can also select the image you want displayed as your main image by selecting ‘set as feature’.

Can you give me some background on the area?
North of Cincinnati Ohio. From an empty lot where I look for fossils. I usually find marine life there, brachiopods, horn coral. But I thought this looked like bone so I thought that was interesting.
