Lovely fossils @anne-talbot! Could you post some clearer pictures with a scale (coin or ruler)? I think there is two possibilities, they could be a pre-existing rock (what is often called a clast) which got stuck in there, or it could be a coprolite as I have seen commonly from Triassic sites in the UK.

@mason-hintermeister I’ve added some more pictures with a scale. Thank you for your help in identifying my finds!

@anne-talbot no worries! The new pictures cleared things up, it looks like one side of the dark masses has the shell and the other side the steinkern, or internal mold of the shell (the stuff that filled it in after death and hardened into a rock).

@anne-talbot these are all indeed lovely ammonite fossils! Nice finds. If you wish your fossils to be marked research grade then you need to post them individually with pictures from multiple angles.

@anne-talbot nice find! I’m going to see if I can find an expert to ID this further so I can mark this research grade!
-
@mason-hintermeister that would be wonderful!

yeah defenetly sea urchin (echinoid), I’d say conulus but it’s a bit less “tall” so probably offaster

What a wonderful specimen, @anne-talbot.
Just to share another resource, there is an excellent website through the NHM – https://www.nhm.ac.uk/our-science/data/echinoid-directory/ that gives you a visual way to identify echinoids! -
@jbauer thank you for that! As you can tell I’m quite new to this and there is so much I don’t know!

@anne-talbot lovely ammonite, I have forwarded it on to an expert to see if I can get a good ID on it!
@anne-talbot got a quick reply, it is from the genus Dactylioceras. Are you sure this fossil is from bridlington? It is a good bit older than usual fossils from there.
@mason-hintermeister I am sure. it was found in amongst the hightide line of stones as the tide was coming in!
