How were you able to identify this down to the species? I had some trouble trying to research this snail! Any resources would be appreciated!
My old research adviser (Carew) did some modern/fossil Cerion work with S. J. Gould in the mid-late 90s and helped me ID this one in particular. C. watingense is one of the more common on San Salvador, so I’m told by the literature. Don’t worry too much about IDing Cerion…It’s difficult to ID many of these species because 1) they are known to hybridize with other Cerion and 2) there are morphological variations for coastal and interior.
As far as resources, this one is pretty nifty, but rather old and the plates are rather difficult to see:

Thanks, Kyle!
