Hi, @brent-wilson, Very cool specimen, what was your photography set up for this? What does the scale bar represent in the images? I think Holocene should not be represented twice but rather just in the Epoch field. Is this a modern specimen. @samantha-ocon, want to check it out?

By definition a fossil must be at least 10,000 years old. Now in theory, a Holocene specimen could be a fossil if it was between 10,000 and 11,700 years old, but that is cutting it pretty thin.

7 years, 6 months ago7 years, 6 months agoA benthic foraminifer from a piston core taken NW of Tobago, at a water depth of ~450 m. Indicative of nutrient poor water, despite the proximity of the delta of the Orinoco River — the world’s fourth largest river in terms of outflow.
