Hi, @cathy-young – another nice specimen! Do you have another image of the other side of the specimen?
Lamna is a fairly recent species probably dating from the Miocene* (or possibly Oligocene) onward. Additionally, it is a cold water genus and would not be found in Tropical/Semi-tropical environments like the Black Creek. As this specimen is from the late Cretaceous it would be Cretalamna (no relationship to Lamna other than a somewhat similar appearance). *a couple of specimens of Lamna have been found in Lee Creek probably representing unusually cold season(s) during a normally warm climate during the Miocene.
