without magnetsMagnets stick and they set a metal detector off
Possibly meteorite?
Hi Chris, this may be an igneous rock with a high concentration of magnetite in it, as this mineral is highly magnetic!
does igneous rock make a metal detector go off?
Some can! Here is an article I found detailing what kinds of rocks will set off a metal detector. Hope it helps! https://detectingschool.com/what-kind-of-rocks-will-set-off-a-metal-detector/
Not a fossil, Tucson is a poor area for fossils, there is a small layer of Cretaceous along the base of Mount Lemon, the rest is igneous rock.
