My gut is telling me it’s and ichthyosaur eye socket, but I’m seeing come red flags like the calcite crystals and possibly the shape but that’s what my gut is telling me.

Hi @dale-simpson if you could fill out the location information that helps greatly with ID! Sites like macrostrat.org provide info like lithrostrat and geochron based on the location. This helps with ID of the specimen! @jack-parker-tyreman while I can see the similarity to an ichthyosaur eye socket, the shape and the fact that the material does not change from inner ring to outer ring leads me to believe that it is not one!
