2 months ago2 months agoYes, you are correct @a-trilobite are Crinoid stems. This rock is full of them so I’m hoping to uncover a complete Crinoid still intact (stem, calyx, arms and pinnules).

Greetings @a-trilobite and @david-todd ! Regarding this specimen, I do not believe this is a rib cage of any sort. it could be a result of erosion as you mention or at best some kind of burrows. That’s the best I can do for now. If there was someone on here who specialized in ichnofossils they could help determine an ID.

2 months, 3 weeks ago2 months, 3 weeks agoTop specimen of first pic looks like a Crinoid stem impression, curving around from bottom middle of the rock to the top left. Not sure about the impression on the cracked specimen. If it’s not made from water I would love to know what it is because I have a huge rock that looks very similar. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. I assume the…[Read more]

2 months, 3 weeks ago2 months, 3 weeks agoPossibly enteropneust (acorn worm)?? I just recently read an article about them. There are some theory’s out there that suggest these worms (if they are in fact acorn worms) are what eventually led to the human species… interesting for sure but no scientific proof

Aren’t all the long straight ones crinoids, or are they gastropods?
