3 years ago3 years agoSince you’ve already posted and want to add pics, there should be an “edit” option for the person who created the post once you click on it. Then tap on the + sign to the far right of where it says “add photos” or “add additional photos” maybe. Something like that.

3 years ago3 years agoHard to say for sure without more pics from different angles but I believe I see horn coral, bryozoan and what looks like either Gastropods, brachiopods or both. Lots going on in there, would be cool to see after prep, nice find!

Greetings @david-todd ! Your specimen looks more like a modern coral than a tabulate coral like Favosites. It also lacks the classic honeycomb structure.

3 years ago3 years agoThanks @holly-romanek, I liked your specimens as well. Actually, your posts from last week as well as a post from @ali-senty-haugen inspired me to post this specimen, so thanks to both of you! The grey webbed fossil you are referring to is one of many different forms of a filter-feeding animal called Bryozoan (AKA “Moss Animals”). If you copy and…[Read more]

Greetings @david-todd ! This is quite a nice cross section of a Paleozoic reef you have. I see bryozoan and crinoid specimens principally.
Most likely from Mississippian crinoidal/bryozoan limestone from the Borden Group.
@matthew-gramling Thank you for the information! Still learning the basics here so your shared knowledge is very much appreciated. I see you helping a lot of people on here along with some other members that are obviously very knowledgeable and helpful, I just wanted to say thank you to you and the others for taking the time to help myself and…[Read more]
