10 months ago10 months agoIt is beautiful. I was excited. I live in a hollow and there is a cliff beside my creek that is caving in . So , every time it rains and washes away, I go check out the new stuff.

Hey @dawn-vitale ! That is an awesome find! Looks like an assemblage of brachiopods.
-
They appear to be Rhynchonellata
in class. Are these another New Castle find?

Awesome find @dawn-vitale !!! @matthew-gramling is right the brachiopod class is Rhynchonellata. Do you have a smart phone? I would download the RockD app- you can use it to record localities you visit (and it shares other folks spots) and get the geologic age – which helps a lot with fossil ID!

Hi, @dawn-vitale – I’m not sure I see any specific fossils. Do you see anything you could direct my eye to?
Thanks, Jen -

Hi, @dawn-vitale – interesting specimen, are there fossil remains in there? It looks like maybe there could be some impressions but it mostly looks like a strangely weathered rock!
-
looks like coper to me

Hi, @Dawn-Vitale. Would you be interested in improving the data associated with this specimen so we can keep it in the eMuseum? I can walk you through the process if you’re interested.
Love the textures on this one! Fantastic!
