Deeanna Fletcher has contributed specimen mFeM 130713 to myFOSSIL!
to me it looks lake a part of a brachiopod or a type of tralibite
It’s a trilobite pygidium
Thanks
@deeanna-fletcher this is a pygidium (trilobite tail) from Pseudogygites latimarginatus, an Ordovician aged trilobite. You can put that in classification using the taxon wizard to fill in higher taxonomy. Then you can use Rockd (app or website) to figure out the age and type of rock so you can fill in the geochronology and lithstratigraphy column. After that, you’ll need to put in approximate location, and lastly take a picture of a fossil with a scale. WHen you finish this (or if you have any questions) you can tag me and I can mark this research grade!
Thanks very excited for this fined. It is the first trilobite or part of one.Thought I would never fine one.
