This vertebra appears to be amphicoelous, meaning that both ends of the centrum (the round part in the middle) are concave. This indicates that it is most likely from a bony fish but there are a few other groups that it may have come from. Unfortunately, I mostly deal in invertebrates, so I’m gonna tag in @VPerez and @Jeanette-Pirlo. If you want to read more on vertebral anatomy, this page is a good starter: https://inside.ucumberlands.edu/academics/biology/faculty/kuss/courses/vertbraeribssternum/amphicoelousETC.htm
Yes fish are difficult. I like invertebrates better.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I can identify any further than you have as a bony fish. You can update the taxonomy to say Class Osteichthyes though. Best, Victor.
