1 year, 1 month ago1 year, 1 month ago@mason-hintermeister Insee you have updated this and now I put some additional details in. I wasn’t sure if “Dillsboro” is a formation or group. I also included the Rockd app info from near where this fossil was found on a Stoney creek bed.

1 year, 2 months ago1 year, 2 months agoNice purple crystals with a larger mineral in the good cavity. Any chance of this being a geodized Crinoid body part or other fossil? It was found among heavy Crinoid material. #fossil

Lovely geode! Not a fossil but a lovely geological specimen.
-
Quartz and pyrite geode ( known as fools gold geode) as the quartz looks like calcite and pyrite is fools gold. It formed from a big cavity inside it decaying the inside forming crystals

Geode

Here is a link to a discussion about a specimen very similar to yours specimen – Geodized fossil of crinoid calyx vs geode. Beautiful find whatever it turns out to be.
