It could be a horn or antler. Look up the age of the rock you found it in and what animals lived in the area at the time to try to find a match
Looks kinda like a wart hog tusk
@a-trilobite @ben-cahill I did searches and didn’t find anything I would expect to find in central indiana… still trying to identify this one

It was loose in a creek.

Do you know what time period (Permian, Jurassic, Pleistocene, Eocene, etc) the rocks in the creek are from?
@a-trilobite most of the area is Mississippian. I do agree that the shape is much like the lower wart hog tusk from photos I have seen.
There was definitely not any tusks or horns in the Mississippian, do you know the age of the other area?
They are all old ocean…
