Hi, @Dmitry-Borodin! If you would like to improve this specimen, we can work together on it. For example, we would need to figure out how old this is and identify it a little further.
-
Hi, @samantha-ocon ! Found in Cretaceous nodules of the Republic of Adygea
-
Perfect! Can you fill that out in the specimen entry under geochronology? I cannot enter this information.
-
Thank you, @Dmitry-Borodin. @JBauer might be able to help us with ID.

Hi, @samantha-ocon & @dmitry-borodin – Sadly, my Mesozoic brachiopod knowledge is pretty lacking. I can certainly say you can update the taxonomy to be Kingdom Animalia > Phylum Brachiopoda > Class Rhynchonellata.
-
@samantha-ocon , @jbauer . Thank you for your help in defining it!
-
Thank you so much for being so responsive, @Dmitry-Borodin. My next advice on making this specimen more useful for researchers is adding more photos from different angles, with a scale.
-
-
Holy crap I believe I found something almost identical to that in South Dakota!
-
According to you tube videos I have also found tons of Stone Age tools. Stay tuned!

@samantha-ocon , middle Cambrian
-
Elrathia kingii from the well known Wheeler Formation in Utah. It is indeed Middle Cambrian in age.

Hi, @Dmitry-Borodin, could you fill in the taxonomy a little further? This would be Kingdom -> Animalia, Phylum -> Mollusca, Class -> Cephalopoda.

Dmitry,
I am interested in Mesozoic vertebrate and invertebrate Cretaceous fossils and have collected many from the State of Mississippi. There is a geographic area in Northeast Mississippi that is rich in many Cretaceous species. and am definitely interested in the fossils that you can find in the Krasnodar Region,,
