Dominik Niehaus has contributed specimen mFeM 68631 to myFOSSIL!
Hi, @Dominik-Niehaus. This is a very cool specimen! Is there any way you could take a clearer photo? I know it’s hard with this kind of matrix.
@samantha-ocon I’m not 100% sure I got the same individual, there are several in this piece, but hopefully the lighting helps increase the contrast a bit.
@Dominik-Niehaus, thank you! I’m tagging in @David-Clark!
I don’t think this is an Acanthocrinus. That’s a Devonian genus found in the Hunsruck slate and New York exposures. This looks like a free swimming crinoid, Saccocoma, which is often found in the Solnhofen limestone. The pictures look like the positive and negative pieces. Very nice specimen!
@samantha-ocon I hate to bother you, but you’re the only “official” person I know on here and that is clearly a spam bot. Does myfossil have a report function for those and I’ve simply missed it, or…?
No problem, @Dominik-Niehaus. We’re aware of the spam problem and currently trying to wrangle it. I don’t believe there is a report function, but thank you for bringing this up to me. I will mention it to our team for future myFOSSIL updates. If you notice any other suspicious behavior, feel free to reach out to me, @Sadie-Mills, @mjones, or @mackenzie-ross-2.
