    In reference to your docx. Isn’t the steinkern associated with the original shell an internal mold by modern definition? This is almost 5 years old but I’m just seeing it. Sorry about that. Plenty of 20th century literature calls steinkerns internal casts but apparently that was wrong.

    Looks like finds from our driveway rock here in Se NC. Apparently has been through the crushing mill. I suspect either River Bend Formation or Peedee formation Rocky Point Member if from Se NC. If from somewhere else you’d have to tell us so we could figure out the formation and possible identity of the snail.
