5 years, 11 months ago5 years, 11 months agoHmmm. It does look like the end of a small femur, but I don’t see the honeycomb structure found in bone. Typically bone fossils will be eroded to some degree, and will show a structure of tiny holes going down through the center of the entire bone, with only a very thin layer of bone wall surrounding it. It looks like this bone has a signifigant…[Read more]

5 years, 11 months ago5 years, 11 months agoThey are intresting because its kind a gray area whether they can actually be called tyrannosaur. This all depends on whether tyrannosaurs are defined as the tyrannosauridae or the larger group the tyrannosauroidea. Dryptosaurus was a tyrannosauroid, but not a tyrannosaurid. So very intresting

5 years, 11 months ago5 years, 11 months agoNice tooth! I have mosasaur teeth, but only the usual common Moroccan stuff. The only U.S specimen I have of mosasaur is a Platecarpus vertebrae from western Kansas

5 years, 11 months ago5 years, 11 months agothey are probably from a juvenile. Young megalodon sharks likley hunted in the shallows, while the full grown adult fish were living in the open ocean, although they ocassionally ventured into the shallows. This may be an explanation as to why the small teeth are much more common the regular giant ones.
