3 years, 9 months ago3 years, 9 months agoHi Mike! Another beautiful tooth from awhile back. Same comment, if you still have the tooth it’d be appreciated to have both lingual and labial views with a scale bar included.

3 years, 9 months ago3 years, 9 months agoHi Don! If you happen to still have this tooth, could you possibly further fill in the classification and geological context sections? The epithet of the tooth looks to be Nebrius ferrugineus. Did you possibly take any pictures with a scale bar?

3 years, 9 months ago3 years, 9 months agoHi Lee! If you still have this specimen, do you think you could take labial and lingual photos with a scale bar and add some more of the geological context?

3 years, 9 months ago3 years, 9 months agoHi Eric! Thank you for sending both the labial and lingual photos. Do you also think that you could update some of the classification information as well? From your photo it appears to be an upper tooth of Hemipristis serra.

most of the items I had photographed 2 years ago have been donated to the Calvert Marine Museum, so cannot redo the photos with scale markers or add to the images anymore. In tryig to keep the house from becoming a museum, I tend to donate or give away most of what I find.
Mike
No worries! Its a great tooth so thank you for the upload!
