Dear Edwin I would love to see your specimen rack or box. You have an amazing eye for structures and patterns. Ive tried to match up many of your pictures to Google images. So far Ive not been able to match them to fossils. However you seems to have a wide range of mineral so

specimens. Im intending to check my books at some stage and hope to identify some of them. Im using this as a way to keep my mind busy. I am a retired teacher but taught at a school where fossils were found on site for 38 years. Saying I have fossil fever is putting it mildly. I hope you have as much fun as I do with my petrocks.

According to what I looked up Palo Duro has lots of marine fossils. I first found a photo of an ammonite with deep ridges but not as deep. There was also a picture of a pecten shell showing these ridges. Although I could find no mention of the species your specimen closest matched Helicoprion which is a strange shark species.
