Hi @greta-stroebel I’m afraid it’s going to be hard to ID without a better picture! Perhaps try setting up a flashlight closer in to light the specimen?

Alligator dermal scute, see SPECIMEN 60952. It didn’t come from Connecticut that’s for sure.
