Hagob Melkonyan has contributed specimen mFeM 96578 to myFOSSIL!

    • Spiral ammonite

    • Greetings @hagob-melkonyan ! To narrow down an ID, we might need some collection data info about where the specimen was obtained and its geological context.

    • @matthew-gramling This specimen was gifted to me when I was very young(this is what got me into fossil hunting). If I remember correctly this was obtained in Virginia but that’s all I can remember about it

    • Rude just don’t look at my comment

    • @aiden-gore I’m so sorry for not responding, what do you mean by spiral ammonite? are you talking about the sprial on the whole of the ammonite or the species of it?

    • Species

    • Actually, “spiral” is not a species, but it does mean that this ammonite does not seem to be a heteromorph ammonite. Heteromorph ammonites have their shells twisted in all sorts of weird ways, while this one seems to have a normal spiral shape to it. Anyways, nice specimen!

    • Oh I was sleepy sorry I meant to say what you said
