Am I the only one that sees a skull?
-
@kevin-quintee I see part of a skull as well as teeth too. @jamie-sargent Did you find this in Blue Earth? If so, you may want to show this to a local university or museum such as Minnesota State Mankato. If you purchased it or acquired it some other way, please disclose that.

@jamie-sargent The more I look at it the more I think oreodont. Need to see the teeth though (the grinding surface of them). They are the most informative form mammals.

@jamie-sargent The teeth and the holes in the skull are not dinosaurian. These appear more synapsid. Do you know where it came from or the age?

Do you know what species of plant that is? I know someone who has the same kind as yours
-
@jamie-sargent and @a-trilobite it depends on how the pinnae are attached to the rachis. I would need to see a closer image. Pecopteris, Alethopteris and Neuropteris are all possibilities. Looks like a Mazon Creek nodule.

Dinosaurs are diapsids, this looks like an anapsid skull. Do you know the age of the rock you found it in?
-
king👍
-
it could be some kind of plant eater
-
I re-looked at this and have changed my mind. I said it was an anapsid because there’s no holes in the skull (besides the eye socket). However, of all the other types of animal skulls, the other holes are located behind the eye socket, where your skull isn’t preserved. So, this could be any of the skull types (anapsid, synapsid, euryapsid, dia…[Read more]
