3 years, 2 months ago3 years, 2 months agoHi @jason-humphreys this is coral. Southern Florida was intermittently underwater throughout the Pliocene and Pleistocene (for about the last 5 Ma). The small lines within the larger swirls are septa (a coral structure) which we don’t see in plants. 3 years, 7 months ago3 years, 7 months ago@jason-humphreys I agree with @bruce-wayne, this looks like coal. It’s all been compressed and while I do see some sort of impression there just isn’t enough there/the right details.
