6 years ago6 years agoThanks for sharing, @evan-walsh. I wonder if you’ve gotten connected with @walter-stein or @jason-schein? I know that they both frequently take groups out for digs, and that many of the specimens go to research institutions.

6 years, 11 months ago6 years, 11 months agoHi, @jean-claude-dionne! Nice website! The images of your collection show quite a variety of invertebrates. We here at the FOSSIL Project are always really excited to learn of new research and education endeavors! I think @jason-schein makes a good suggestion. I’d also recommend checking out the Penn Dixie Fossil Site (exec director is @philip-stokes)

6 years, 11 months ago6 years, 11 months agoWow! This is really excellent. I visited the Survey page on your website, and am very excited to see that you’re interested in developing Fossil Restigouche as a research and education field site. Can you say more about how long you’d like feedback for? Did you see this @jennifer-ward@jason-schein@egardner@bmacfadden ?

Hi, Lisa and thanks for your comments and also for visiting my website: fossilrestigouche.com As far as for my survey I am thinking 6 months or until I get enough feedback to take a final decision.
-
I will definitely check it out once home today. I’m always excited to see new initiatives and fossils.

Hi, Thanks for your interest in my next project in developing a major fossil site, your comments and suggestions are always welcome. J.C. Dionne / owner

I love the website and variety of invertebrates. The fact that you say they are all easily accessible makes me think this is a wonderful opportunity for students (such as myself). I think this has potential to become a 8-9 day field camp type of experience even and would minimize the impact from a full curriculum-type course but I can’t be certain…[Read more]

Hi, Thank you for your interest in Fossil Restigouche. I would love to invite you and or your group to come and dig for fossils but I am sorry to tell you that our fossil site is not ready yet to receive visitors, we are now conducting a Survey on our website in order to determine if there are enough interest and demand for this important project…[Read more]

Oh sorry, my wording was poor as I was trying to fit a pun/joke in.
I just meant to come and take a physical look at the property on behalf of the university to see if it has enough potential to sustain a multi-year educational ‘field camp’ type of experience. Much like the geologist had done….. but slightly different
-
I didn’t mean that I was going to bring an excavator type team or people. It would likely be me and another student…. as scouts
-
This major project is in its early stage of development and we don’t have any insurance yet to cover public accidents or injuries on this property and this summer we will probably conduct drilling test with low charges of explosives to break the bedrock in different locations on the property so it will be way to dangerous for public.
