Dear all-see below (largely copied from an email Dave sent me):
Dave Blackburn and Ed Stanley are hosting Duncan Irshick from UMass-Amherst for our department seminar on Friday.
Here’s more about Duncan and his Digital Life project.
Duncan is going to give a photogrammetry workshop on Friday from 1–2:30 pm in the DCR. He’ll then be giving a seminar titled “Animal Attraction: Bioinspiration and Recreating Life in 3D” at 4:15 pm.
Duncan will spend time in VP before lunch ~11 am. As a group, we clearly have a lot to talk about with him. I have reserved the DCR, but we may also be walking through parts of the collection and labs.
The goal is for Duncan to get the lay of the land during this quick visit and then to return later this year to do 3D photogrammetry for a range of local herps, etc. that we could use on the museum website.
Hope to see you on Friday!
