Activity

This specimen comes from a plant zone above the Ames limestone, and is shown as a pollen-producing structure in “Fossils of Ohio”. My son and I stumbled onto this zone fortuitously while scouting for Ames outcrops in the area. The zone also produced reeds and two nice pieces of permineralized (petrified) wood.
