Amazing, thank you for the identification! I had picked this up at the Canadian Palenontological Conference a few years ago on the freebies table during the poster nights.

Am I able to use your name on my blog as the person who ID’d it for me? @mackenzie-smith

We have a waterfall up here outside of London Ontario where just down stream we find tons of invertebrates coming out the walls. I have the gps at home but I know there is a website as well.

I didn’t mean that I was going to bring an excavator type team or people. It would likely be me and another student…. as scouts

Oh sorry, my wording was poor as I was trying to fit a pun/joke in.

I just meant to come and take a physical look at the property on behalf of the university to see if it has enough potential to sustain a multi-year educational ‘field camp’ type of experience. Much like the geologist had done….. but slightly different

This major project is in its early stage of development and we don’t have any insurance yet to cover public accidents or injuries on this property and this summer we will probably conduct drilling test with low charges of explosives to break the bedrock in different locations on the property so it will be way to dangerous for public.

I love the website and variety of invertebrates. The fact that you say they are all easily accessible makes me think this is a wonderful opportunity for students (such as myself). I think this has potential to become a 8-9 day field camp type of experience even and would minimize the impact from a full curriculum-type course but I can’t be certain…[Read more]

Hi, Thank you for your interest in Fossil Restigouche. I would love to invite you and or your group to come and dig for fossils but I am sorry to tell you that our fossil site is not ready yet to receive visitors, we are now conducting a Survey on our website in order to determine if there are enough interest and demand for this important project…[Read more]

Hi, @jean-claude-dionne! Nice website! The images of your collection show quite a variety of invertebrates. We here at the FOSSIL Project are always really excited to learn of new research and education endeavors! I think @jason-schein makes a good suggestion. I’d also recommend checking out the Penn Dixie Fossil Site (exec director is @philip-stokes)

I have a bunch of similar ones, not sure what they are exactly (aside from probably being a fern)

hi, @jennifer-ward – Very nice specimen. Do you have another image perhaps a view of the hinge (long flat bit) or commissure (opening side)?

I think we can minimally say Phanerozoic > Paleozoic > Devonian for this specimen.
How did you come about it?
      Talk to you soon, Jen
