3 years, 1 month ago3 years, 1 month agoOh yeah I just looked it up to try and narrow down into species. There are 179 species of bryozoan and you need great equipment to be sure. Either Ramose or Anastomosing it would have to be. I got the cross section of it really though. Thank you all again for your help!

Looks like a possible fish tail, or an oddly shaped bryozoan
Thanks! Wondered if it could be a tail.

@leonardo-miranda what kind of coral do you think this is!
I mean ?
@a-trilobite hard to be sure, I’m not an expert. it’s a branching coral, and certainly not a horn coral or anything like that. I’d probably say…. tabulate coral?
Stony bryozoan, it’s not a full cross section but the edge or ‘skin’ is broken off
Please note that corals don’t really have skin
@leonardo-miranda the pictures I saw didn’t really match, I’m sticking with the fish fin idea
@a-trilobite @chloe-geddes l did some more research with regards to bryozoans, and l think they do fit the identity better. the majority of bryozoans that I’ve seen prior to this have always looked quite different, but now tgat l researched more types then it makes sense for this to be one.
@leonardo-miranda @chloe-geddes I see what you mean about they bryozoan. Did you find any specific species or group that this falls under because when you look up bryozoan it comes up with tons of different kinds.
