Full concentration! I place the 99% pure dry flakes directly on the matrix. The humidity in the air normally kickstarts the chemical reaction, but you can always spray lightly with a spray bottle.

It is. The preservation present in the Ft. Payne Chert Formation is pretty harsh. Calices are just about all of the crinoid that one finds.
