The wait is over, and I am pleased to announce that Dr. Adiël Klompmaker has accepted the position of Curator of Paleontology at the Alabama Museum of Natural History. Adiël has over 13 years of experience establishing a multi-disciplinary, collections-based research program in paleontology. His areas of focus include the systematics, biodiversity, and paleoecology of crustaceans in various sedimentary settings and the evolution of biotic interactions (predation, parasitism and competition) through geologic time. With 59 peer-reviewed papers and more than 250 popular articles, he brings a strong research program to the museum. He received his Ph.D. at Kent State University, and has held positions at the Florida Museum of Natural History and most recently the University of California Museum of Paleontology at Berkeley. If all goes as planned, Adiël will arrive in Tuscaloosa in early December.  In the meantime you can also follow him on Twitter @paleoadiel.
