I had dinosaur biology as a class in undergrad and had one of the last hold out professors that believed raptors should be birds and their own lineage within the archosaurs but separate from what we now call the non-avian dinosaurs. 4 years, 9 months ago4 years, 9 months agoIs it a dinosaur? no. A bird? No. It’s flying reptile. Also, if pterosaurs had Proto-feathers, or feather like structures, where do these structures actually begin to appear in the fossil record?
