Wow! It looks like some sort of gomphothere tooth. That’s a really nice find! Can you also add a photo of just the crown (from the top)? That way the cusps (bumps) will be a little clearer and someone might know which species. (It could also be Mastodon. They look very similar to me but there are people here who are better at mammal tooth ID than me.)

5 years, 6 months ago5 years, 6 months agoA lesson on crocodilians is in the middle school folder. I’m having some struggles with 3D prints, but will keep working on them. I’ve been wasting lots of filament.
My plan is to teach the lesson the week of December 3 (I’ll do the pre-survey November 26. We will do the assent and send home consent papers tomorrow.
