Could you make this correction on your specimen? Is this housed in your personal collection? Thanks, Jen

Hey Ronny! Just returned from the Aurora Fossil Festival! I visited @george-powell‘s collection. It was incredible.
How are things in Leipzig?

Hey man … my job is awesome and I am the most happiest man in the world. Stay tuned for my first visualisations …

Hi Ronny! Good to hear from you-I’m working through the mental models paper, it’s nearly ready for everyone’s feedback, which is exciting. How’s everything at the museum in Leipzig?
-
Hi, Ronny! Things are going well here – staying busy! The project has some cool events coming up, like the Fossils for Teachers workshop in August. I’m also trying to convince people to submit abstracts for a citizen science in paleontology themed session at national GSA in Seattle. Speaking of GSA, I keep getting calls from them trying to reach…[Read more]

7 years ago7 years ago@kcrippen this is a great idea! @dellingson I too recommend creating a group for your classes! If you have any technical questions for setting up a group, let @egardner know and she can help you out!
-
That would be great to create a group. One issue I’m having, is I’m having students put fossils into the database, but they are not showing up when we submit them. There should be about 15, but there are only 2. We will keep trying though.

-
@vperez can you help with David’s issue adding fossils?
-
Did you make sure they are marked as public rather than private? @dellingson
If there is some kind of error message, you should use the Send Feedback button in the bottom right corner.
-
Hey Victor, I had some students upload a bunch of pictures to the database. However, looking at some there are some mistakes or changes that need to be made. Is it possible to put all these in a separate group and in the public database, and then give me the ability to go through and make the corrections?
-
Unfortunately, I don’t think so. I can think of two possible solutions. You could post comments on students fossils, so they can make the corrections. The other option would require you to get the login info for each of your students and make edits within their accounts.
-
Also, I see a couple fossils in the gallery that don’t have a ‘featured photo’. If they go into images, there should be a button that says “Feature Image”, which will make the image appear in the fossil gallery list.
-
I ran out of class time today for all pictures to get uploaded. There will be time in the future that they will be able to do this.

7 years, 7 months ago7 years, 7 months ago@kcrippen No there isn’t a problem. I was trying to show people what it looks like when you add a new fossil and what sub-fields are already in place. So I was repeatedly clicking the ‘Create New Fossil’ button to do so. I didn’t make any of them public, but I’ll use the blank templates to add new fossils as I upload more.
