      @Adam-Frey, scutes are the hardened, thickened bumpy armor pieces on the backs of animals like gators, turtles, and armadillos.

      Would like to see the other side. From what I see so far, it looks like turtle shell, could be alligator but from the side I see there is no indication of that.       It’s not a tortoise spur. It may be a process off of a vertebra but I can’t really say much with certainty on this one.

    I found this while tubing down a river, not even really looking. I’ve never seen anything like it locally before. I’d appreciate any input on a possible identification. I found it in Apopka, Florida. #fossil
