I have always been interested in paleontology but, until my recent retirement, really never had the time to enjoy looking for and learning more about fossils. Having retired to Myrtle Beach, SC, I was determined to be spend time walking the beaches and looking for shark teeth that I had read so much about. Little did I realize the extreme amount of additional fossils that are there on the beach if you know what you are looking for. I have spent many hours reading in an attempt to expand my knowledge in identification of what I find. My real passion is for the late Pleistocene mega-fauna which inhabited South Carolina. I am amazed at the extent of material that is available on our beaches and am looking forward to learning so much more from “myFOSSIL.” U of F Zoology major, 1965-1969.
