4 years, 8 months ago4 years, 8 months agoThat’s interesting. I was wondering if it could be an ostracod, but I can’t find any that really match what you’ve got. @laura-cotton@mackenzie-smith any ideas on this? I think it is from a lower cretaceous freshwater site in Texas.

6 years, 1 month ago6 years, 1 month agoHi @joseph-dumont, thanks for sharing this fossil! I’m tagging @laura-cotton so she can take a look, as I think she is studying Florida forams currently.

Thank you, let me know if there’s additional information needed about this foram.

Hi @sadie-mills and @joseph-dumont it looks like a lepidocyclinid with a serpulid worm tube on top. Hope that helps!
-
Thank you for information – its always great to have additional details for a collected fossil.

@laura-cotton, very glad you found your log-in credentials! Welcome back to the myFOSSIL site 😉

6 years, 10 months ago6 years, 10 months agoHi, @mike-cable! Great idea for a forum. I can share some of the microfossil identification resources from my graduate micropaleontology course. And perhaps @laura-cotton could join in on this forum as well — foraminifera are her specialty. Mike, would you be the forum moderator?
