9 months ago9 months agoSome type of Rugose Horn Coral but I can’t seem to identify what type has these unique spirals. We find them all over our Middle TN forest (Ordovician Period). the one is blue just because I put ink on it to make an ink imprint on paper. #fossil

1 year, 3 months ago1 year, 3 months agosorry I should have been more clear. center is definitely a brachiopod, then to its right is a coral. what I mean is the imprint directly above it. it looks like something of even depth with three lobes or sections

It is too worn to be 100% sure, but I think gastropod is your best bet! If you add location information, I might be able to help you find an age for the fossil.
-
@mason-hintermeister done!

@looghna-hunt this fossil and others in your area date to the Ordovician, 443-485 million years ago!

@shannon-wheat what do you mean?

Ignore the above comment. Assuming the first picture is your leaf guess. It’s a brachiopod of some sort. It looks to me like it was open all the way when it fossilized. There are always a few “creative” people on this app, right now there are a lot of them.

Looks like brachiopods to me
