4 years, 7 months ago4 years, 7 months agoHi, @mackenzie-peil, this specimen is really fragmented so I’m afraid I won’t be able to help much with ID. We can update Phylum Mollusca > Class Bivalvia in your classification though!
Talk to you soon, Jen -

7 years, 1 month ago7 years, 1 month agoHi @mackenzie-peil , the Lee Creek Mine is actually the name of the locality not the name of the formation. We don’t know the formation for the Aurora matrix, but we know that it is part of the Chesapeake Group. Also, the two fossils you’ve identified as brachiopods are actually clams. The scientific name is the class Bivalvia.

7 years, 1 month ago7 years, 1 month ago@mackenzie-peil – Do you have any information on where these objects were found? (location, geologic formation, etc) @taorminalepore is a coprolite specialist, so perhaps she could give her opinion about the first image.
