Greetings @mariah-voigt et al.! Most of the strata around Albuquerque is Neogene and Quartenary formations so they would make a brachiopod less likely as well as its large size. Could upload a photo a the specimen with a measuring tool for scale?

@samantha-ocon @mariah-voigt With the wing on the left (left from the shell’s perspective, bottom of the picture) it looks shell like and not plant. The asymmetry of the valve would place it in Bivalvia/Pelecypoda (whatever we’re calling it now).
