bone
-
@leonardo-miranda this doesn’t look like a bone, it’s likely a rock with erosion lines
-
@a-trilobite you’re probably right.
-
That edge looks like cell formation. Aka bone. But photo is a bit blurry, could be simply erosion.

2 months ago2 months agoThere was a trash pile close by with old bottles and other junk I wonder if it didn’t get thrown away 70 years ago and just now getting uncovered? I’ve collected 5 or 6 bottles out of there the last year at different times cause yeah don’t think the MEG was here

Wow, certainly has the megalodon look but it looks like the lingual side. Do you have a picture of the other, labial, side which is the view that is more normally seen?
-
Yes
-
Could be a meg because I think that place was covered with water
-
Shallow water from what I’ve read but I’ll take it!
-
I found a shark tooth here in Iowa. It’s not common but can happen.
-
Meg I think

Top fossil looks like a horn coral, left fossil looks like a kind of bone, and the other two look like rocks
-
top and bottom are horn coral, right is bone, and left I’m not sure but probably just rock.
-
Thanks! Appreciate it
