2 years, 8 months ago2 years, 8 months agoPicked some rocks from around my hotel and thought I’d bring them back and trouble. One of them turned out EXACTLY like this!!! I’d take a picture but it’s in the prepolish tumble now!

2 years, 9 months ago2 years, 9 months agoLooks like AGATIZED coral with droozy inside on the top. It also looks like it had been filled with crinoids at some point.

2 years, 10 months ago2 years, 10 months agoGuessing: the star-shaped fossil is the “cup” of a Crinoid, “Cladida”. The arms of the crinoid extend out from that star and a trunk-like structure extends downward, below that star to secure the crinoid to, “whatever”.

Post additional images with the same specimen rather than creating new specimens!

It could be possibly be coral horn but I probably wrong let one of the smarter paleontologist tell you some more information! The only reason I am not going to say it is just a cool looking rock is because Florida has been underwater multiple times in history!

Then why would you put Pensacola is in Florida so don’t put it in there then
-
The location is where the item was found, not where you live.

Add additional images to the one specimen rather than creating additional specimens.
