1 year ago1 year agoI posted this on mindat like you suggested. It was quite the conversation piece. They seam to think that it is a caltrop. They would spread them on the road and the horses would step on them and bruise their feet and come up lame .

@matt-griffin this is unfortunately not a lithic artifact, there are not signs of conchoidal fractures or abrasion. But, keep an eye out they may be around!

I did the streak test, and it leaves no streak. i
I did find it in the same area I found a iron rock that looked like a jack from the ball and Jack game.
I posted another pick of the rocks I found with it.
it’s a bit sad that’s it currently has very little likes but it’s very interesting maybe its underated
it amazes me to sit and look at it.
