6 months, 4 weeks ago6 months, 4 weeks ago@nate-fields this is a mammal long bone, given that it is the diaphysis (shaft), it is very difficult to identify. I suspect it may not be a fossil, you can check if there is collagen in it by holding a flame to it outside and see if there is black smoke or a smell like burning hair.

1 year, 9 months ago1 year, 9 months ago@nate-fields You can tell the difference between a cow and a bison tooth by whether a tooth feature called called a stylus is present or well connected, yours doesn’t have one and therefore is likely a modern cow.
