It would be helpful if you could tell us where you found it, and the background of the place (like what the layers or layer dates back too e.g. Devonian, Jurassic, Eocene, and the rest)?

Looks like a stingray dental plate but I have never seen one in which the material was indistinguishable from the encasing stone.

Dont think this is a fossil. The closest match I could find for you was that it might be jasper. Very beautiful. Im jealous.
