2 years, 6 months ago2 years, 6 months agoIt appears to be an ironstone concretion. This type of concretion is called a paint pot down South. Supposedly, Native Americans would collect these and use the enclosed ocher as body paint.

2 years, 6 months ago2 years, 6 months agoIt appears to be a piece of metamorphic rock, a muscovite schist. Garnets are commonly found in this type of rock. Would need to know where it was found to give a more precise identification.
