6 years, 12 months ago6 years, 12 months ago@egardner I saw a post for the paleontological society outreach and education society grant. Would anyone consider writing a grant (I can help write it) in which we develop an online fossil identification training for myfossil members which includes the purchase of a sample fossil set like Ward’s “Know Your Fossil Collection?” Perhaps the set can also be used to teach preservations methods. Or perhaps, a state fossil identification training where we recruit state geologist to provide samples that can teach people about that state’s fossil and geological history.
Interesting idea, @roberto-fernandez! I feel that the state fossils are under-utilized as a teaching tool. Perhaps @bmacfadden and @jeanette-pirlo could also add to this conversation, as they are very interested in bringing paleontology into K-12 classrooms.
Looking forward to the discussion.

Thanks for the link, @roberto-fernandez. I see you’re in Fort Lauderdale (FL); are you also a member of the Birmingham Paleontological Society in AL?
