4 years, 7 months ago4 years, 7 months agoHi, @roberto-fernandez – is there any shell material left? Possibly on the other side? Would you be able to take another image with a scale? It looks pretty fragmentary but it seems like calcite growth is pretty common in these fossil clams?

6 years, 11 months ago6 years, 11 months agoInteresting idea, @roberto-fernandez! I feel that the state fossils are under-utilized as a teaching tool. Perhaps @bmacfadden and @jeanette-pirlo could also add to this conversation, as they are very interested in bringing paleontology into K-12 classrooms.
