3 years, 8 months ago3 years, 8 months ago@samantha-ocon this tiny specimen was found in the Spiti river bed, Geological unit of that region appears same as of the ammonite specimen, i.e Tagling and Spiti formation and ranges from the lower to upper Jurassic period.

3 years, 8 months ago3 years, 8 months agoHi all @samantha-ocon@matthew-gramling@sarah-gripe@leonardo-miranda interesting find. I would guess it would be a smushed conulariid (jelly fish relative) or a straight cephalopod. Location indicates probably Mississippian in age.

The asymmetry of the valve would place it in Bivalvia/Pelecypoda (whatever we’re calling it now).
