4 years, 3 months ago4 years, 3 months agoFossil? In my parent’s yard in South Phoenix. We’ve also got some coral fossils I think, which I’ll post later. It’s unclear if the original owner of the house brought rocks in when he built it in the early 60s. But they’re scattered throughout the wash on the property by the side of the house.

Hi, @Sarah-Coates! Cool photo – there is a type of coral that can look like this. They’re called “tabulate coral”. However, I’m thinking that this might be mud cracking – @jbauer + @mackenzie-smith
@sarah-coates @samantha-ocon I think these are gypsum crystals growing in mud cracks.
